Trevor Noah to return as host of the 2022 Grammy Awards

A familiar face will host next year’s 64th Annual Grammy Awards. The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah will return in the role and induct a new class of Grammy winners on January 31.

Next year’s award show will be held at the newly renamed Crypto.com Arena — formerly the Staples Center — in Los Angeles, California.

Trevor last held down the fort for the pandemic-delayed 63rd Grammy Awards on March 14. This continues a streak LL Cool J started in 2012, where every host has returned for at least two consecutive stints. James Corden hosted both the 2017 and 2018 ceremonies, followed by Alicia Keys‘ back-to-back appearances in 2019 and 2020.

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement, “We’re so excited to welcome Trevor back to the GRAMMYs stage and feel fortunate to once again have him hosting what we believe will be an unforgettable evening.”  He also called Trevor an “amazing” host and said he garnered “praise from the music community, music fans and critics” during 2021’s socially-distanced ceremony.

Although the host will remain the same, things will run a little differently for next year’s nominees. Last week, the Recording Academy announced some changes in the so-called Big Four categories. For first time in Grammy history, there are 10 nominees up for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.

Artist Jon Batiste heads into the ceremony with a leading 11 nominations.  Justin BieberDoja Cat and H.E.R. are also top nominees, with eight nods each.

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards will air January 31 starting at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

Jared Leto claims he was “only joking” about his gross ‘Suicide Squad’ gifts

(NOTE LANGUAGE, CONTENT) While he’s gone on the record as having done so, Oscar winner Jared Leto now claims he was joking when he said he’d sent his Suicide Squad co-stars gross “gifts,” like sex toys and used condoms, from his Joker alter-ego.

His co-stars had corroborated the stories, with Oscar-winner Viola Davis once telling Vanity Fair, “He gave us some really horrific gifts,” claiming Leto had a “henchman” drop a dead pig on a table on set. “And then he sends Margot Robbie a black rat. It was still alive, in a box. She screamed, and then she kept it.”

At the time, Leto claimed playing the Clown Prince of Crime in the movie led him to create an “element of surprise” for his co-stars. Leto, however, now says his outrageous claims were “all in jest.”

The House of Gucci actor and 30 Seconds To Mars frontman just told Entertainment Weekly, “99.9 percent of what people read is bulls**t. [T]here were no used condoms.”

He added, “Any of the very few gifts that were ever given were given with a spirit of fun and adventure and received with laughter, fun, and adventure. It’s all filmed! They filmed it all! People were dying. We were just having a goof.”

Leto also said, “I’m playing a guy called the Joker, it’s OK to play some jokes. Nothing ever crossed any lines, and it’s not up to other people on the internet to create those lines.”

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly unleash a little chaos when taking a couple’s quiz together

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly recently celebrated their first anniversary and, on Wednesday, provided a candid glimpse into their relationship when taking the GQ “Couple’s Quiz.”

True to form, their answers were a mix of sweet, spicy and pure chaos.

Their interview starts off with the two telling the story of how they first met — which was at a GQ party — where Megan’s first words to MGK were, “You smell like weed.”

“And I said, ‘I am weed,'” Kelly smirked.  Apparently, he vanished right after that bizarre first exchange.

Megan then grilled the “my ex’s best friend” singer over how well he knows her in a series of rapid-fire questions.   MGK knows that his lover has “being abducted by a UFO” on her bucket list, that loud chewing is her “pet peeve,” her favorite book AND movie is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and that her hidden talent is being “an almanac and an encyclopedia and a dictionary all in one.”

MGK’s most hilarious fail came when he forgot Megan played April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  In all, he answered 28.5 out of 31 questions correctly.

When the roles were reversed, Megan correctly answered 29 questions.  She revealed MGK prefers his coffee “black and bitter” — but that she makes his morning brew with oat milk and sugar “to sweeten you up” — and that he’s a secret fan of Nicole Kidman and is invested in Nine Perfect Strangers and The Undoing.

The Jennifer’s Body star also ratted out her boyfriend’s work/life balance by calling him out for rarely taking any days off and also said his favorite place is “Travis [Barker]’s studio.”

Megan also teased her boyfriend’s upcoming sixth studio album, Born with Horns, agreeing that it’s “very good.”
