Anne Heche‘s death has been ruled an accident, more than a week after suffering serious injuries in a fiery Los Angeles car crash, city records show.

The 53-year-old actress died from inhalation and thermal injuries, according to records from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. She also suffered a sternal fracture due to blunt trauma, the records state.

The day of Heche’s death is listed as August 11. The actress was declared brain dead that night but was kept on life support for organ donation and her heart was still beating, her representative said then. Heche was removed from life support on Sunday, her representative said.

Heche was alone in her car on August 5 when she crashed into a home in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, engulfing her car and the house in flames, according to Los Angeles police and fire officials. No one else was injured in the single-car crash, and the home’s resident and her pets were able to escape the blaze unharmed.

Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and was in a coma in critical condition following the crash, her family and friends said in a statement. Heche was not expected to survive her injuries, her family said, noting that it “has long been her choice to donate her organs.”

Results from a blood draw completed several hours after the crash showed Heche had narcotics in her system, but additional tests were being run to determine more about the drugs and to rule out which may have been present because of drugs administered by medical personnel, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators told ABC News no alcohol was detected in Heche’s blood sample, though again, the blood draw was several hours after the crash.

LAPD investigators told ABC News on August 12 that they had ended their criminal investigation due to the latest developments in Heche’s condition.

Khloé Kardashian expecting baby via surrogate

Khloé Kardashian is expecting a second child via a surrogate, her representative confirmed Wednesday.

“We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November,” the representative said. “Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing.”

The timing means her second child was conceived before her now-ex, NBA star Tristan Thompson, revealed in December 2021 that he had fathered a child with another woman.

Their daughter, True Thompson, was born in 2018.

The reality TV star, 38, has been open about her fertility journey with her on-again, off-again boyfriend.

“[My doctor] said that I would be, like, a high-risk carrier for a pregnancy,” she said in a clip from Keeping Up with the Kardashians in March 2021. “I’m not gonna get into specifics on camera, but they said it’s an 80-something percent chance I’ll miscarry.”

Kardashian said her doctor warned her that she most likely wouldn’t be able to carry a fertilized embryo.

Her sister, Kim Kardashian, has been vocal about using a surrogate as well. Her third and fourth children were born via a surrogate, after she suffered from placenta accreta during her previous two deliveries.

Former ‘Cheer’ star Jerry Harris sentenced to 12 years in prison for sex crimes

Jerry Harris, a former star of the popular Netflix docuseries Cheer, was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to sex crime charges earlier this year.

The 22-year-old actor pleaded guilty in February to receiving child pornography and engaging in interstate travel for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 15.

Harris faced several other sexual misconduct charges. As part of his plea agreement, he admitted to the rest of the charges as stipulated offenses.

He had faced five to 50 years in prison.

U.S. District Court Judge Manish S. Shah also sentenced Harris to eight years of supervised release following his time in federal prison.

Allegations against Harris, who was a breakout star of the first season of Cheer, first came to light in September 2020, when he was arrested and charged with one count of producing child pornography.

A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago alleged that Harris enticed an underage boy to produce and send sexually explicit videos and photographs of himself.

The complaint also stated that the boy, who said that he was first contacted by Harris in December 2018, informed Harris during a conversation on social media that he was 13 years old at the time. Harris was accused in the complaint of also making similar requests to the boy’s twin brother.

As part of the sentencing Wednesday, Judge Shah ordered Harris to pay a combined $45,000 under two laws that provide restitution for victims of child pornography and sexual abuse, court records show.

Two crew members on the set of the Alec Baldwin-backed film Rust were hospitalized Thursday after a prop gun with blanks misfired, according to one of the film’s producers.

The Western, starring Baldwin and Jensen Ackles of Supernatural, began filming this month at Bonanza Creek Movie Ranch, a film location in Sante Fe, New Mexico.

Deputies with the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday afternoon they were responding to an incident at a movie set. The producer confirmed the incident happened on the set of Rust, and said Baldwin was OK.

“There was an accident today on the New Mexico set of Rust involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks,” the producer said in a statement to ABC News. “Two crew members have been taken to the hospital and are receiving care. Production has been halted for the time being. The safety of our cast and crew remains our top priority.”

University of New Mexico Hospital, the state’s only Level 1 trauma center, said in a statement to ABC News that one patient was transported by helicopter “in critical condition.”

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

The sprawling Bonanza Creek Movie Ranch is frequently used as a film location for Westerns, including 3:10 to Yuma and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

Baldwin shared a photo from the set of “Rust” earlier on Thursday in costume.

“Back to in person at the office,” he captioned the post. “Blimey…it’s exhausting.”

The actor is co-producing the film under his company, El Dorado Pictures, with Joel Souza writing and directing.
