Do you remember that one guy in high school that wouldn’t shut up? You know, the guy that you were always curious what might come out of his mouth next, but you sometimes wished that he’d find a filter? That’s Aaron, in a nutshell!
But, before he became “that guy” in school, Aaron had a tough beginning to life, after being left behind by the circus and being raised by a school of Asian Carp on a local river. Despite his upbringing, Aaron can’t swim, so we still wonder to this day how he managed to survive. Eventually, he found his way to dry land and a human cannonball that was ready to retire from the circus. Out of the goodness of her heart and a bit of kinship to the young man, she and her trainer took Aaron into their home.
At the ripe old age of 17, Aaron called into a radio show one night for their “Top 5” feature and got to be a guest DJ. Apparently he wasn’t as bad at the radio thing as he was at swimming, so the nighttime DJ offered our young hero the chance to be an intern for the summer. Since his adoptive parents had wandered off and joined a band of traveling acrobats, Aaron took the gig as something different to do and brag about on the first day back to school in August (well, and to be able to fill the standard two-page “How I Spent My Summer Vacation” essay that English teachers just LOVE to assign). One thing led to another and our protagonist had found a calling. Eventually, the suits decided to throw him on the air one weekend in the middle of the night and the rest is history.
Never one to deviate much from his roots, Aaron’s travels in radio have taken him from Illinois to states like Alabama (twice), Ohio, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Central Illinois. When he’s not on the radio, doing his best to overcome the fact that gills don’t do any good outside of water, you’ll usually find Aaron playing some form of poker, golfing, watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, or parked in front of yet another Law & Order marathon.
